Founded in 1900, the Lancaster Country Club is higly-ranked Platinum Club of America and is one of the finest private clubs in all of Pennsylvania. Facilities include an 18-hole championship golf course, 9-hole golf course, 9 tennis courts, 3 platform tennis courts, an aquatic facility, 45,000 square foot clubhouse, for the 600 member families and their guests.

LCC was recently the host of the 2015 U.S. Women's Open Championship, which was incredibly successful and brought tremendous accolades to the club. The club will again host the U.S. Women's Open in 2024. The club is family centric featuring events and amenities for every demographic while focusing on ever increasing programs for youth, including summer camp, swim team, youth social events as well as an extensive junior golf and tennis programs.

The club is nearing the completion of a $20 million expansion and renovation bringing forth all state-of-the-art equipment and working environment. This position would have a role in the planning and design of facility upgrades which would provide valuable experience for their career.

Position profile:

This is a full time, year-round position that provides an incredible opportunity for individuals that are starting their career in hospitality management to come and gain valuable experience at a Platinum Club with exceptional management and mentoring staff. This position would have direct oversight of the day-to-day food service operations. This position would serve as a vital component of our overall management team focused on the improvement of the overall membership experience at LCC.

The candidate must have the ability to positively train and lead a team to provide and first-class member experience. The candidate will be excepted to maintain high visibility with the membership in the dining room and other areas as needed.

Position requirements:
  • Four-year degree in hospitality or business management preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various F&B service techniques and programs.
  • Leadership skills focused on training and motivating a team to provide customized member service.
  • Basic beverage knowledge is preferred.
  • Ability to work with various computer and POS systems.

Job Summary:

Take part in all activities necessary to provide the Club Members and their guests with an outstanding experience.  This includes but is not limited to set-up, friendly and knowledgeable service and all cleaning and closing procedures.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Arrives on time, in proper uniform and ready to work according to the LCC standards.
  2. Maintains proper posture throughout the shift.
  3. Provides a friendly, courteous and professional attitude at all time.
  4. Attends daily pre-shift meetings on time.
  5. Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon seating and takes members’ and guests’ drink and meal orders in a timely fashion.
  6. Rings in orders to kitchen through POS system using correct seat numbers and fires courses in a timely manner.
  7. Mixes, prepares and serves drinks to members and their guests.
  8. Carefully follows all laws and club policies and procedures regarding alcoholic beverage service and informs a manager if continuing service to a member or guest is in question.
  9. Continually practices beverage and revenue control procedures including pouring the correct amount of alcohol in the correct glass.
  10. Follows set-up procedures including but not limited to inspecting the bar prior to opening to ensure that adequate supplies are available.
  11. Maintains bar area and equipment.
  12. Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drinks.
  13. Requests additional supplies from a supervisor or manager daily and stocks the bar.
  14. Keeps records of liquor, beers, and wine to ensure bar stock is at the appropriate level.
  15. Cleans bar and equipment at the end of the event including disposing of boxes and dumping of recycled items in proper bins.
  16. Responsible for knowing all daily functions of the Club in correspondence with the Club Calendar in addition to the menu items and beverage offerings we serve.Carries out any reasonable request by the Management Team in order to provide excellent service to our members and ensure effective teamwork.

Turn Stand Attendant

Job Summary:

Take part in all activities necessary to provide the Club Members and their guests with an outstanding experience.  This includes but is not limited to set-up, friendly and knowledgeable service and all cleaning and closing procedures.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Arrives on time, in proper uniform and ready to work according to the LCC standards.
  2. Maintains proper posture throughout the shift.
  3. Provides a friendly, courteous and professional attitude at all time.
  4. Provides immediate attention to all members/guests upon arrival and takes members’ and guests’ drink and meal orders in a timely fashion.
  5. Rings in orders through POS system and serves meal to member/guest using.
  6. Prepares food and beverages with club and governmental standards.
  7. Submits inventory and par sheets at end of day for re-stocking.
  8. Offers help to your co-workers and manager when you know you have free time as well as ask for help if you feel out of control.
  9. Works safely throughout your shift. (i.e. Don’t lift or load heavy or unbalanced trays, don’t run no matter how busy you are, walk briskly but carefully in kitchen and keep noise level down in kitchen).
  10. Completes opening and closing side work in an efficient manner. Has adequate knowledge of the servers opening and closing responsibilities and is aware of their expectations.
  11. Turns in signed end of shift report prior to leaving.

Job Summary:

Presents a positive first impression of LCC’s excellent service and high standards. Greets members upon arrival by name, shows members to their table and bids members farewell as they leave.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Arrives on time, in proper uniform and ready to work according to the LCC standards.
  2. Maintains proper posture throughout the shift.
  3. Provides a friendly, courteous and professional attitude at all time.
  4. Examines dining room to assure all tables are set per reservations and requests.
  5. Attends daily pre-shift meetings on time. Insures member preferences are added from lineup.
  6. Maintains the seating chart and knows how many covers each server has to ensure accurate cover counts in conjunction with knowing times of tables to ensure proper service.
  7. Communicates all changes and walk-ins to assigned wait staff and manager on duty.
  8. Greets incoming and departing members with a warm, genuine smile while making eye contact and escorts members to assigned table.
  9. Arranges for booster seats or high chairs, as needed.
  10. Answers incoming calls to LCC and screens the phone calls accordingly. Always using correct phone etiquette and verbiage when addressing all members.
  11. Accurately takes to-go orders over the phone and enters them into the POS system.
  12. Ensures all reservations for upcoming days are logged into our reservation binder under the correct day, time, and all requests the member has made.
  13. Attentive to members’ needs throughout their dining experience (ex. menus on tables, replenishing water replenishing water, clearing soiled dishes, etc.).
  14.   Removes dishes and trays off dining room floor and clears them at the dish station; sorting glasses, dishes, and silverware properly.
  15. Helps dining room staff by maintaining tables through the shift; clearing and resetting tables at the end of the shift.
  16. Completes opening and closing side work in an efficient manner. Has adequate knowledge of the hosts opening and closing responsibilities and is aware of their expectations.
  17. Carries out any reasonable request by the Management Team in order to provide excellent service to our members and ensure effective teamwork.

Food Runner

Job Summary:

Oversees the delivery of food from the Kitchen preparation area to the appropriate Dining area.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Arrives on time, in proper uniform and ready to work according to the LCC standards.
  2. Maintains proper posture throughout the shift.
  3. Provides a friendly, courteous and professional attitude at all time.
  4. Attends daily pre-shift meetings on time.
  5. Greets all members with a warm, genuine smile while making eye contact.
  6. Knowledge of all dishes on the menu.
  7. Executes quality food delivery to guests in a timely fashion to ensure that the whole table receives their food at the same time and while food is at proper temperature.
  8. Assembles food on tray; making sure the entrée looks presentable.
  9. Serves meal; removes soiled dishes if necessary, places dishes by courses in front of each person, serves from left of the person and uses seat numbers to ensure we are not auctioning off food.
  10. Keeps dish station clean and tidy.
  11. Removes dirty dishes and trays off dining room floor and clears them at the dish station; sorting glasses, dishes, and silverware properly.
  12. Keeps work area clean at all times; ensuring that health code violations are not being broken
  13. Completes opening and closing side work in an efficient manner. Has adequate knowledge of the food runner opening and closing responsibilities and is aware of their expectations.
  14. Keeps expediting area clean at all times, wiping down, sweeping floor, etc.

Event Setup Staff
Reports to:

Food and Beverage Managers

Job Summary:

Complete initial setup and final breakdown of events. Ensure event rooms and general use areas are clean, and cleaning and returning equipment to its proper location. Complete opening and closing duties. Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to members and guests.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Meets all expectations and standards laid out in LCC employee handbook including timeliness, uniform, cell phone policy and professional attitude.
  2. Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  3. Reads over BEO for each event and is responsible for knowing and understanding all vital information for the event.
  4. Work with the Event/Sales Manager(s) and Banquet Supervisors to ensure quality and accuracy of set-ups within all catering rooms.
  5. Ensures all AV equipment is setup and functioning correctly according to BEO.
  6. Set up, stock, and maintain work areas. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned station and service areas.
  7. Ability to work independently and provide quality expectations and standards.
  8. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
  9. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  10. Available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  11. Understands and follows proper LCC service standards.
  12. Ability to assist with banquet service and operations as needed.
  13. Communicates with banquet supervisors as well as other colleagues and management in a respectful tone.

  3. Previous setup experience is preferred
  4. Knowledge of food and beverage operations for events and banquets is preferred
  5. Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required), depending upon event and business requirements
  6. Good verbal communication skills
  7. Must have a flexible schedule, be highly motivated and quality driven

Banquet Server

Job Summary:

Provide exceptional LCC service to our members and guests through event setup, food presentation and table service duties, prep-work and closing tasks, and other duties as assigned to help facilitate a smooth and efficient event service.

Daily Tasks:
  1. Meets all expectations and standards laid out in LCC employee handbook including timeliness, uniform, cell phone policy and professional attitude.
  2. Approaches all encounters with guests and colleagues in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  3. Reads over B.E.O. (banquet event order) for each event and is responsible for knowing and understanding all vital information for the event.
  4. Understand proper setup before event begins and ensures table place settings, including table linen, china, glass, silverware and condiments are setup and that each element is clean, undamaged and attractive.
  5. Attends daily pre-service lineups on time and understands and fulfills assigned tasks.
  6. Assists with proper food and table prep before the event begins.
  7. Sets up buffets with food presentation standards and practices in mind to ensure safe food handling performance.
  8. Follows and understands expectations of proper LCC food and beverage service standards.
  9. Serve plated dinners and respond to requests for beverages, appetizers, and other needs in a timely manner.
  10. Serve buffets and run food from the kitchen to the function on demand.
  11. Communicates with the banquet captain as well as other staff and management in a respectful tone.
  12. Attentive to members’ and guests’ needs throughout their dining experience.
  13. Completes opening and closing side work in an efficient manner. Has adequate knowledge of the banquet server’s opening and closing responsibilities and is aware of their expectations.
  14. Post event assists in clearing and post function cleanup and garbage removal, maintains clean and orderly back areas, pre-function areas and storage areas, and assures that all china, glassware, silverware, linen, etc. are returned to their proper location.

Racquets Pro Shop Associate

Racquets Pro Shop Manager

Job Summary:

Be a smiling, welcoming face to our members when they enter the Racquets Pro Shop. Ideal position for a college-age student who is looking for part-time, evening/weekend hours (approximately 16 hours per week). We have an amazing Racquets Department and would love to find someone who melds with our team.

Daily Tasks:

  1. Answering phone calls
  2. Responding to emails
  3. Keeping track of the reservation sheet (checking in court times, ball machine, etc.)
  4. Sweeping courts
  5. Selling merchandise
  6. Assisting members
  7. Keeping the pro shop/surrounding area tidy
