JUNE 16, 2009. The 2009 summer swim team season is off to a fast start. LCC won its first home meet on June 16th against Adamstown 213 to 211. There were a total of 5 records broken at the meet. Charlie Gingrich set an 8 & Under Boys 25 Freestyle pool record of 16.33; Sammy Kegel set a 12 & Under Girls 50 Butterfly team & pool record of 32.56 as well as a 50 Freestyle team record of 30.11; Kasey Mann set a 14 & Under Girls 50 Butterfly team record of 31.10 and Elizabeth Davis set an Open Girls 50 Butterfly team record and tied the pool record of 31.69.

JUNE 18, 2009. Congratulations to all of the members of our swim team as well as the coaches on a fantastic team effort on June 18th that resulted in a 231 to 198 win over the Mountville swim team. The team is now 2-0 as we move to the halfway point of our dual meet season. The turnout at our first two meets has been exceptional and allowed us to field competitive relays, which is essential to a victorious outcome and certainly great for team spirit. We would encourage all of our swimmers to participate in our final two dual meets as well as the Township Cup. We swim Millersville away on Tuesday, June 23rd, The Township Cup is at Skyline on Tuesday, June 30th and our final dual meet is away at Conestoga on Tuesday, July 7th. Lets keep our momentum moving forward and finish out with a strong season.
-------
JUNE 23, 2009. WAY TO GO STINGRAYS!! Last night we notched our third victory with 228-194 win over Millersville. At 3-0, we are off to our best start in years.
Next Tuesday, June 30th, is the Township Cup at Sklyline, and July 7th marks our final meet at Conestoga. The team is on a roll and everyone's participation is critical to maintain this winning pace.
Additional dates to verify on your calendar are the July 9th Swim for Life at LCC (contact Kelly Greiner at kwgreiner@comcast.net for more information). Divisionals are at Mountville on Saturday, July 19th and All-Leagues at Overlook on July 24th & 25th.
Lastly, please plan to attend the Swim Team Banquet on Tuesday, July 28th. It will be a fun night to celebrate and recognize every swimmer's hard work and tremendous achievements.
Keep up the great work!

JUNE 30, 2009. Thanks to all of the swimmers who participated in last night's Township Cup at Skyline. It was a fun night under sunny skies filled with many great performances. The Stingrays placed second behind Skyline--no small feat given the strong Division I competition.
Please keep your eye out for the swim team banquet invitation that will be coming via email in the next few days. This is a fun night filled with good food, awards, team photos and a fantastic slide show put together by Art Mann. You should RSVP directly to the club so we can plan accordingly. It is also the time of year to consider making a contribution toward the coaches' gift. If you would like to participate, please put your donation in the envelope in John and Christian Fulton's folder located in the pool office. The coaches have all worked hard to make this a fun season for the kids and the winning record is certainly a bonus. Any amount is appreciated.
We look forward to seeing everyone at our final dual meet at Conestoga on Tuesday, July 7th. Remember that relays can decide the meet so your participation does make a difference!

JULY 7, 2009. Outstanding!!! LCC capped off an undefeated dual meet season with a 241 to 189 win over Conestoga last night. We had clutch performances from all age groups and we should point out that several swimmers swam up an age group to insure the victory. Congratulations to the coaches and to all of our swimmers whose combined efforts resulted in LCC going 4-0 this season and winning the Division II title.
We still have two meets left on our schedule: Divisionals which will be held on Saturday, July 18th at Mountville. Everyone is eligible for this meet and Layne needs to submit the meet entries by this Friday, July 10th. If you did not previously sign up we encourage you to do so as this will be another great opportunity for the LCC team to shine against Division II competition. Our last meet is All Leagues the following weekend at Overlook. This meet is a time qualification meet with the qualification times posted on the LCC Pool Office bulletin board. Links to additional details on both meets are at the top of this page.
This Thursday, July 9th is Swim For Life at the LCC Pool during practice with lunch to follow. The Swim Team Banquet will be on Tuesday, July 28th for which you will receive an email invitation. Please respond to the Club directly for this fun-filled evening.
Great attitudes, incredible team spirit and good meet attendance combined with strong swimming and coaching made our season a success.
Way to go Stingrays!

JULY 13, 2009.Thank you to all the swimmers, both parents and children, who participated in Swim For Life last week. It was a fun event and a good cause to support. We would also like to thank Kelley Greiner for all of her efforts in organizing the event – well done!
This Saturday is Divisionals (July 18) at Mountville followed by All Leagues next weekend (July 24 & 25) at Overlook. Let's finish the season strong with some great performances. (Remember to bring your swimsuits for swimming after the banquet!) We look forward to seeing everyone there.

JULY 20, 2009. Congratulations to all of the swimmers who participated at Divisionals on Saturday. While we had a small contingent of Stingrays at the meet, all of our swimmers did a fine job. Charlie Gingrich was a triple winner taking first in the Boys 8 & Under 25-Yard Freestyle and 25-Yard Butterfly as well being part of the winning Boys 8 & Under 100-Yard Freestyle Relay which included George Markley, Will Greiner and Tyler Kurtz. The boys' relay time set a new pool record at the Mountville Pool. Way to go boys! Other winners included John Fulton in the Boys 10 & Under 25 Yard Butterfly and Laura Stonerook in the Girls Open 50 Yard Breaststroke.
This weekend is All Leagues at Overlook. We will have several relays competing Friday evening and the individual events will take place on Saturday.
Lastly, please be sure to sign up for the Swim Team Banquet on Tuesday, July 28th by calling the club directly 393-3886 to make your reservation. Remember to bring your swimming suits as there will be an open swim following the banquet.
There is one week left and then the 2009 summer swim season will be in the history books. Go Stingrays!
